Karibu was established as a Close Corporation on the 1st of April 2003. Being a progressive organization it required Paul Khayil, the owner and founder, to undertake in-depth research into the needs of the market, in terms of providing exceptional brokerage services. As a result, Karibu Heath Care Services become fully operational on the 27th of August 2003 and accredited with the Council for Medical Schemes as a healthcare brokerage.

Karibu is a medical aid brokerage specializing in the provision of health care services. Although a wide array of medical brokers are operating in the market, Karibu is unique in the sense that we not only offer a service but we provide our members with a friendship. The word ‘Karibu” means welcome in Swahili, we aim to make all our members feel appreciated when entering into a relationship with us. Hence not only do we offer the basic service level agreements but ultimately aim to provide a personalized service.

Karibu healthcare is in a partnership-associate agreement with MEMP FINANCIAL SERVICES PTY LTD a dynamic company in Port Elizabeth. Each branch is responsible for the its operational management, growth and development. We are governed by the MEMP philosophy and guiding principle that gives us a national footprint namely Port Elizabeth(h/o) Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town

Karibu healthcare service core business currently is medical aid. We are currently expanding and segment our markets into funeral cover, employee benefits, individual & group life included will be investment finally reaching our operational goals of being a one stop financial services provider

Effective from the 01/08/2010 Karibu Healthcare services became a subsidiary of Khayil Holdings.
